 The 2021 RAM 1500's Powertrains and Capability
With four available powertrain options, the RAM 1500 has an engine for every lifestyle. The RAM 1500's standard powertrain is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 that has 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque. Able to tow up to 7,730 pounds, the 3.6L engine is a solid base model. Next is a popular powertrain upgrade, RAM's 5.7L HEMI V8. With 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque, this engine is capable of towing up to 11,610 pounds.ÂFor a mix of power and efficiency, check out the 3.0L Eco Diesel V6. This diesel engine offers 260 horsepower and a hefty 480 lb.-ft of torque, equating to a max towing capacity of 12,560 pounds. To max out your RAM 1500's capability, choose the 5.7L HEMI V8 eTorque option. With 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque, this powertrain maxes out the RAM 1500's towing capacity at 12,750 pounds.
